Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Aviation Engineer to join our organization. As a key member of our airfield design team, you will be responsible for designing and planning production for general civil works on various airfield projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities;
  • Acting as the Task Lead/Design Lead, as appropriate;
  • Collaborating with multi-discipline architectural/engineering teams on aviation projects and pursuits across multiple regions;
  • Contributing to and participating in client and design review meetings;
  • Preparing technical reports, specifications and contract documents;
  • Assisting with conducting quantity calculations and construct cost estimates;
  • Performing moderately complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures;
  • Effectively communicating project issues with clients, contractors and suppliers/vendors;
  • Serving and/or growing as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed;
  • Assisting with construction administration and management related duties as needed;
  • Making decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed;
  • Planning, organizing and supervising work of other junior staff and technicians as needed;
  • Performing other duties as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license;
  • Previous experience with Airfield Planning and Design;
  • A thorough understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software, AVI-Plan software packages and Infraworks modeling software or similar design software;
  • An overall understanding of airfield design;
  • Microsoft Office experience;
  • A strong technical background and experience in designing several aspects of airfields;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
