About This Role

This is a pivotal position within the infrastructure development team at Humes, offering a unique opportunity to lead and manage production projects from order stage through to final delivery and site follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Project Performance: Manage project teams to achieve tendered objectives and targets, ensuring continued business with head contractors in the construction and infrastructure industries.
  • Timely Delivery: Ensure the timely delivery of quality products and services that meet customer expectations.
  • Risk Management: Review and assess contracts, specifications, and drawings to limit Humes' exposure to potential risks and ensure compliance with obligations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in tendering and quoting, and contribute to the development of new and innovative ways to improve the bottom line of the business.
About You

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering principles, quantity surveying, estimating, and tendering. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing time, cost, quality, and OH&S issues.

Requirements
  • Civil Engineering Principles: Qualifications or a sound understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Precast, Concrete, and Related Industries: Experience in Precast, Concrete, and/or related industries (Construction, Steel, Heavy Manufacturing).
  • Quantity Surveying, Estimating, and Tendering: Knowledge of Quantity Surveying, Estimating, and Tendering.
  • Strong Interpersonal/Communication Skills: Ability to read drawings, understand the cost drivers of the business, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Commercial Awareness: In-depth knowledge of contractual matters and commercial awareness.
  • Microsoft Office and SAP: Sound skills in Microsoft Office and SAP.
