The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in litigation management to oversee and manage the defence of claims against the Aon Group in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successfully managing complex legal matters, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Manage and cost-effectively resolve litigated and non-litigated disputes in Australia with minimal impact on Aon.">
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to mitigate risks and protect Aon's interests.">
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership and colleagues from other departments, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.">
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork within the litigation team.">
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external legal advisers and experts to support the efficient provision of legal services to Aon.">
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.">
  • Work closely with management and relevant committees to reduce and mitigate professional liability and other risks.">
  • Effectively plan and manage external legal expenditure, ensuring alignment with Aon's financial goals.">
  • Promote Aon's values and leadership model, embodying the company's commitment to innovation, diversity, and inclusion.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Law qualification from an accredited law school.">
  • Admitted to practice law in New South Wales.">
  • 12 years+ PQE litigation experience obtained in a top or middle tier law firm and/or in-house legal department in the insurance sector.">
  • Experience in professional indemnity disputes and/or employment law.">
  • Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues across different functions and bring people together to achieve results.">
  • The ability to think commercially, understand business drivers, and provide insights.">
