Job Title: Library Systems Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a Library Systems Support Specialist. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing IT support and training for staff and customers, troubleshooting library technology, liaising with system suppliers and Council Information Technology staff, preparing statistics as required, and assisting in the implementation of new technology according to the Library Technology Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide IT support and training for staff and customers
  • Troubleshoot library technology
  • Liaise with system suppliers and Council Information Technology staff
  • Prepare statistics as required
  • Assist in implementation of new technology according to the Library Technology Plan
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University qualifications in Information Technology and/or Information Studies or Information and Knowledge Management (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in systems implementation and vendor management
  • Demonstrated experience in systems support including troubleshooting of PC hardware, software, and other peripherals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review work processes and systems
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently and to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge and skills in data extraction, manipulation, and statistical analysis
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training to staff and customers in the use of technology
  • An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills including report writing
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
