
Pharmacy Treatment Specialist

EML’s mission is to support people through their return-to-work journey. As a Pharmacy Treatment Specialist, you will utilise your expertise as a community pharmacist to advise on medication, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to ensure safe and appropriate treatment.
You will provide expert advice, optimise medication plans, support recovery in line with regulatory requirements, and educate stakeholders and operational team members on medication-related issues. This role requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes for continuous improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimise medication and treatment management
- Assessing high-risk medication use and providing clinical opinions on treatment strategies
- Liaising with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation
- Education injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks
- Identifying the need for and referring to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations
- Providing training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A bachelors degree in Pharmacy - essential
- Current registration in professional field
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice
- Well established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice
- An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
