Cancer Care Pharmacist Job Description

This role involves providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to patients receiving treatment at our medical oncology centres. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

  • Conduct clinical trials activities such as setting up new trials, dispensing, counselling, completing accountability logs, and assessing compliance.
  • Dispense medication, including chemotherapy to patients.
  • Review treatment orders in MOSAIQ and submit chemotherapy orders for preparation or supply.
  • Support the development of Mosaiq care plans and review them accordingly.
  • Manage inventory and process pharmacy invoices efficiently.
  • Provide medication counselling and participate in pre-admission clinics.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • General unrestricted pharmacy registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A commitment to patient-focused pharmacy practice.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical pharmacy experience, preferably in an oncology/haematology or clinical trials setting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate clinical pharmacy services effectively.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
  • Flexibility to work across all sites in the greater Sydney area.

Clinical trials experience with a current Good Clinical Practice certificate would be highly desirable.
