Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strong partnerships, providing HR support and guidance throughout the organization;
  2. Deliver operational HR assistance to both leaders and employees;
  3. Address HR policy inquiries from the business;
  4. Assist in the recruitment, retention, and onboarding processes in alignment with organizational guidelines;
  5. Oversee and facilitate the resolution of workplace challenges, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders;
  6. Establish and nurture positive relationships with union representatives;
  7. Engage in consultative meetings and negotiations regarding enterprise agreements;
  8. Contribute to various HR projects and initiatives;
  9. Advise on the content of enterprise agreements;
  10. Prepare and present monthly reports for the leadership team;
  11. Guide performance management processes;
  12. Support learning and development initiatives;
  13. Assist with workforce planning strategies;
  14. Collaborate with the broader HR team as necessary;
  15. Help maintain accurate employee records.

Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, particularly in industrial relations. The ideal candidate will possess resilience, initiative, and a results-driven mindset.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a blue-collar work environment;
  • Ability to interpret enterprise agreements;
  • HR experience within a unionized setting;
  • Proficient change management capabilities with a practical approach to HR;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in MS Office.
