Position Overview
Reporting to the National HR Manager, this role involves collaborating closely with the local leadership team and the wider HR network. The successful candidate will be instrumental in executing the HR Business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships, providing HR support and guidance throughout the organization;
- Deliver operational HR assistance to both leaders and employees;
- Address HR policy inquiries from the business;
- Assist in the recruitment, retention, and onboarding processes in alignment with organizational guidelines;
- Oversee and facilitate the resolution of workplace challenges, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders;
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with union representatives;
- Engage in consultative meetings and negotiations regarding enterprise agreements;
- Contribute to various HR projects and initiatives;
- Advise on the content of enterprise agreements;
- Prepare and present monthly reports for the leadership team;
- Guide performance management processes;
- Support learning and development initiatives;
- Assist with workforce planning strategies;
- Collaborate with the broader HR team as necessary;
- Help maintain accurate employee records.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, particularly in industrial relations. The ideal candidate will possess resilience, initiative, and a results-driven mindset.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in a blue-collar work environment;
- Ability to interpret enterprise agreements;
- HR experience within a unionized setting;
- Proficient change management capabilities with a practical approach to HR;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in MS Office.
