Process Safety Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Manager to join our team and contribute to the development of a strong process safety culture across high-risk industrial operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Process Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessments, developing and implementing safety management systems, preparing and maintaining Safety Cases and compliance documentation, leading licensing and relicensing activities for facilities, supporting site audits and regulatory inspections, monitoring process safety performance and reporting to leadership, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations across jurisdictions, and providing expert guidance across Region South Pacific and driving continuous improvement in process safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading Process Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessments: Identify and mitigate potential hazards in industrial processes to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Developing and Implementing Safety Management Systems: Design and implement effective safety management systems to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Preparing and Maintaining Safety Cases and Compliance Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive safety cases and compliance documentation to support regulatory requirements.
  • Licensing and Relicensing Activities: Lead licensing and relicensing activities for facilities to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting Site Audits and Regulatory Inspections: Collaborate with site teams to prepare for and support site audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitoring Process Safety Performance: Continuously monitor process safety performance and report to leadership to identify areas for improvement.
  • Compliance with WHS Regulations: Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance across Region South Pacific and drive continuous improvement in process safety performance.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in process safety within regulated industries (AU/NZ)
  • Knowledge: Deep knowledge of MHF & Dangerous Goods regulations (AU/NZ)
  • Skills: Proven experience with HAZOP, LOPA, and risk analysis
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement & negotiation skills
  • Leadership Skills: Strong time management, autonomy, and leadership in safety
