About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Talent & Culture Manager to join our team at Novotel Brisbane South Bank. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive employee engagement, retention, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement annual Talent & Culture strategies to support business goals and objectives.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to boost retention and performance, working collaboratively with senior leaders to create a positive workplace culture.
  • Manage internal communications to support employee engagement and foster a culture of transparency and open communication.
  • Partner with department heads to assess staffing needs and optimize workforce planning.
  • Recruit for senior positions, ensuring communication with Regional Talent & Culture to leverage national and international talent pools.
  • Oversee the end-to-end talent acquisition process, prioritizing the candidate experience.
  • Develop, review, and implement Talent & Culture policies and procedures to support effective people management practices.
  • Develop and maintain a stable working environment, adhering to organizational and legislative requirements.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to department heads on people management matters.
  • Manage employee relations functions, including industrial relations, award interpretation, employment contracts, position descriptions, performance management, and rewards management.
  • Lead and mentor team members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Conduct annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and develop a hotel training strategy to meet operational needs within Accor guidelines.
  • Prepare and communicate monthly hotel training calendars, promoting Accor Academy programs as necessary.
  • Support Accor's Indigenous Employment and Engagement strategy.
  • Supervise the implementation of the Management and Talent Performance Review System, recommending development strategies to improve individual performance and potential.
  • Manage rewards and recognition programs, ensuring effective promotion around the hotel and adherence to Accor guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field, with proven experience in senior-level human resources management roles.
  • Experience within the hospitality sector is an advantage.
  • Experience managing large, diverse seasonal workforces.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems and ability to leverage them for timely reporting and accuracy of information.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience managing the full employee lifecycle.
  • Proven success in maintaining a positive and results-driven culture.
  • Understanding and previous experience developing a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge and proven experience interpreting and implementing relevant legislation and awards.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to managing diverse functions in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lead and drive an effective Safety and Return to Work (RTW) framework and strategy.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships to foster a unified leadership approach, commitment to embracing organizational values, and maintaining high professional leadership standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, with the capacity to work onsite 5 days per week.
  • Professional image with high standards of grooming and presentation, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia are a must; work visa sponsorship will not be provided.
