Deliver compassionate care to individuals in a residential aged care setting as a dedicated Spiritual Care Practitioner.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing spiritual support and guidance to patients, carers and staff, helping them navigate complex health challenges and fostering a sense of meaning and purpose.

You will spend the majority of your time by the bedside, engaging in active listening and empathetic conversation to understand the needs and concerns of those in your care. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.

A typical day may involve attending referrals, supporting patients through challenging times, leading group meditation sessions and arranging public ceremonies and services.

Governance and compliance are essential aspects of this role, requiring attention to detail and accurate recording of activity and patient encounter data.

To be successful in this position, you must prioritize self-care and maintain a healthy work-life balance, utilizing individual strategies and practices to manage stress and maintain your well-being.

About You:

  • Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education
  • Undergraduate qualifications in Theology or Social Science (Director's discretion)
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team and as a sole practitioner
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Residential Aged Care experience desirable
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality care

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement for this role.
