Pastoral Care Support Specialist

St John's Primary School, Lambton is seeking a Permanent Part Time (14 hours per week) Pastoral Care Worker to join the team February 2025.

Job Description:

The role of the pastoral care worker will vary depending on the needs of the individual schools and their communities. Therefore, schools are encouraged to shape the role of the position according to local needs and the capacities of the incumbent.

  • Provide general spiritual and personal advice to students.
  • Support the wellbeing of the broader school community through strategies that promote student and staff mental health.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Be a Catholic with a good understanding of Catholic schools and the wider community.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work effectively in teams.
  • Demonstrate good organisational ability and proved capacity to work effectively in a school environment.
  • Be competent and capable in monitoring and reporting requirements of CSO and NSCP.
  • Meet NSCP minimum qualification requirements (a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or equivalent).
