About the Role

Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Peer Worker to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have a lived experience of mental health issues, substance use, and recovery, and will utilize this expertise to provide efficient, effective, and confidential person-centered support to clients.

The Advanced Peer Worker will work under limited direction to facilitate the development, planning, and delivery of peer support services across both community and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide peer support services to clients, utilizing a lived experience of mental health issues, substance use, and recovery.
  2. Work collaboratively with clinical staff to develop a better understanding of recovery-oriented care and the additional benefits of peer support.
  3. Facilitate the development, planning, and delivery of peer support services, including guidance and support to AO3 Peer Workers.
  4. Contribute to a culture of collaboration, trust, respect, and teamwork within the organization.
