Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a leading Child Safety provider throughout QLD, dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for young people with diverse needs and abilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your transferable skills in a new and exciting setting, supporting and empowering young individuals to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to young people, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting independence.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans and interventions, ensuring the unique needs of each individual are met.
  • Empower individuals to build essential life skills, such as cooking, personal care, and budgeting, through daily routines and hands-on training.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in disability support work or a related field, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of each individual.
  • A genuine desire to empower young individuals, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment.

CYF programs operate 24/7, which includes shift work (sleepovers, weekends, and possibly awake shifts). We require:

  • A Blue Card for Working with Children (currently hold or be eligible to apply for)
  • NDIS Worker Screening (currently hold or be eligible to apply for)
  • Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2)
  • A driver's licence (P2 minimum)
  • A willingness to enrol into a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification
  • Hope & Healing modules
  • A smartphone with internet access
  • A CPR Certificate (willing to obtain)
