Work Health and Safety Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Work Health and Safety expert to join our team. As the key advisor on WHS matters, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a risk-aware culture throughout our organization.

About the Role
  • Develop, implement, and maintain WHS strategies, policies, and procedures that align with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and reviews of the WHS Risk Register to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including hazardous materials, asbestos management, and psychosocial risk mitigation.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and hazards, oversee timely reporting, and drive corrective actions.
  • Oversee WHS planning and risk assessments for major events, projects, and operational activities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing WHS in high-risk environments, ideally across large-scale events, public venues, and operational areas.
  • Strong knowledge of risk identification and control, including crowd safety, contractor management, working at heights, plant and equipment, and hazardous substances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, from ground staff and contractors to senior executives and regulatory bodies.
