About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Team Leader to join our team at Bernardi's Supermarket in West Wyalong, NSW.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to take on a leadership role within our supermarket. As a Department Champion, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff members, ensuring excellent customer service standards, and contributing to the overall success of the store.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in retail management or a related field;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A strong ability to lead and motivate a team;
  • A keen eye for detail and a focus on achieving high standards;
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in inventory management software;
  • Knowledge of supermarket operations and procedures;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of staff members;
  • Maintaining high standards of visual presentation and store cleanliness;
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management practices;
  • Providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly;
  • Assisting with promotions and marketing initiatives;
  • Maintaining stock levels and receiving shipments efficiently;
  • Participating in safety and compliance audits;
  • Monitoring and reporting on sales and profitability metrics;
  • Coaching and developing team members to achieve their full potential;
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices;
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar role or relevant industry;
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in retail management or a related field (desired but not essential);
  • Intermediate-level computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills;
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays;
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow within the company.
