About Our Civil & Criminal Lawyer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full-time Civil & Criminal Lawyer to join our team in Alice Springs or Tennant Creek, NT. This newly created hybrid position reports directly to the Senior Management Team and offers a unique opportunity to work across both civil and criminal legal matters.

The role involves extensive outreach travel and participation in bush courts to provide holistic, trauma-informed legal assistance to vulnerable women in regional and remote areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality legal services to clients across civil and criminal law domains.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve client outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an Australian university.
  • Admission to practice as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Proven experience working in civil and criminal law, preferably in a remote or regional setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and community members.
  • A deep understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on vulnerable populations.
