We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook to support the nutritional needs of children in our care.
Job DescriptionThis role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 6 months to 5 years old. You will work closely with Educators and the Centre Manager to plan menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the children.
As a Childcare Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing daily meals and snacks that are healthy, varied, and appealing to young children.
Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely, following all relevant food safety regulations.
Ensure menus meet the dietary needs of the children, including any allergies or cultural requirements.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including managing food and equipment inventory.
Collaborate with our Educators to support the overall health and well-being of the children.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Experience cooking in a licensed childcare centre or similar setting
- Knowledge of child nutrition and food safety regulations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Successful applicants must hold:
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
- A current Working with Children's Check and First Aid
- Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
No weekend or late night working
