Heavy Diesel Fitter Job Description

We are seeking skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our team in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diesel mechanics, with experience working on heavy machinery such as Cat, Liebherr, Komatsu & Hitachi gear.

About the Role:

  • Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on mobile fleet at Goonyella.
  • Perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service.
  • Complete preventative maintenance such as inspections, servicing and adjustments.
  • Conduct timely breakdown related maintenance such as troubleshooting, repairs and replacements.

About You:

  • Relevant diesel fitter/heavy vehicle trade qualifications or equivalent trade.
  • Proven experience with Caterpillar, Liebherr, Hitachi and Komatsu mining equipment highly desirable.
  • High levels of initiative and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Safety focus with high attention to detail to abide by site safety processes.

Work Environment:

Our mine is located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah. We provide labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
