Mining Automation Professional

Job Description:

RaptorTech is developing a disruptive technology platform that delivers autonomy to the mining sector. Our systems integrate robotics, computer vision, control, fleet optimisation, and collision avoidance into a single modular ecosystem.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy robotic control algorithms for autonomous haulage, drills, dozers, and excavators.
  • Develop and test safety-critical automation systems including braking, guidance, and collision avoidance.
  • Collaborate with computer vision engineers to fuse GNSS, Lidar, radar, and camera data for machine navigation.
  • Contribute to digital twin simulations to validate robotics and fleet automation strategies before deployment.
  • Work closely with customers to deploy and validate autonomous systems in live mine environments.
  • Help refine and expand RaptorTech's autonomy platform to support scaling across fleets and sites.

Our goal is to deliver immediate and sustained ROI for customers – boosting productivity, cutting downtime, and reducing emissions by 10–20%.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or related engineering field.
  • Strong foundation in robotics, control, or automation (modelling, kinematics, motion planning, PID/control theory).
  • Experience with embedded systems, C++/Python, or real-time robotics platforms.
  • Ability to work across disciplines (vision, perception, fleet optimisation).
  • Passion for applying robotics to real-world heavy equipment and mining challenges.
  • Australian work rights or eligibility to work in Australia.
