Production Supervisor Job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide leadership for all day-to-day production activities in compliance with all relevant statutes and responsible to achieve safe and effective production.

This role is suited to an individual looking to progress their mining career, with continual career progression opportunities and exposure to truck/shovel (digger), dozer push and cast blast in a fast-paced low strip ratio 4:1 open cut mining environment.

Duties include:

  1. Fulfilling statutory requirements for an Open Cut Examiner including inspections and reporting;
  2. Complying with policies and procedures;
  3. Setting and demonstrating proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards and ensuring a safe working environment;
  4. Demonstrating safe behaviours and providing visible safe leadership to team members;
  5. Ensuring risk management tools and relevant procedures are in place when planning and executing work;
  6. Utilising shift personnel and equipment resources effectively to achieve mine plan and production targets;
  7. Supervising contractors operating in mining areas;
  8. Ensuring personnel on site are trained and competent for duties assigned;
  9. Identifying training requirements within crew and facilitating multi skilled crews;
  10. Presenting structured Pre-Start meetings with production crew;
  11. Participating in continuous improvement program;
  12. Liasing with maintenance, technical and other support services to deliver mine plan and achieve production targets.

About You:

The successful candidate will hold an OCE qualification and current NSW practicing certificate, with leadership experience in an open cut mining production environment.

You will also need:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising a large workforce to positive effect in an open cut mining environment.
  • Valid NSW Driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety as a way of life.
