About the Role

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking a highly skilled System Accountant to join our Internal Budgets & FMIS Section in the Finance and Procurement Branch.

As a System Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) at the ABS, ensuring that processes supporting business as usual operations are configured correctly. You will also be responsible for monitoring the FMIS, troubleshooting issues, and providing support to end-users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring system variables, organisation and natural account hierarchies, XLOne reports, dashboards and mapping tables are updated and maintained as required
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of the FMIS and associated processes
  • Preparing materials for the Assistant Director in response to external audit queries and requests
  • Ensuring that processes and controls are appropriately maintained and documented
  • Developing and maintaining continued working relationships with other business areas to enable ABS and external audit objectives to be met

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
