About the Role

As a Childhood Educator with Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, you will play a vital role in delivering culturally appropriate early childhood education and health programs to children using their first language based on the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a).

The position focuses on implementing a culturally rich environment that includes the use of Aboriginal languages of children in the centre, games, activities, and songs. Our program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a).

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a learning environment that strengthens educator practice and continuous improvement to optimise children's learning outcomes.
  • Document personal and social growth, development, cultural context, learning, and interests of the child in child records.
  • Prepare and provide children's food as required.
Requirements
  • You identify as an Aboriginal person and are recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal Community.
  • You have a passion for early childhood education.
  • You hold a current First Aid Certificate or are able to obtain one.
  • You hold a current NT Working with Children's Card.
  • You hold a NT Drivers' licence or are able to obtain one.
  • You are fully immunised against COVID-19.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Total Effective Package of approximately $74,214 per annum, which includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options.
