Caregiver of Perioperative Patients

Role Overview:
As a seasoned perioperative registered nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care within our Interventional Suite. You will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing services to adult and pediatric patients undergoing planned and unplanned procedures and surgery.
The Interventional Suite is equipped with 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a cardiothoracic theatre, as well as two Cardiac Catheter Labs and four Procedure Rooms. The service operates 7 days a week, from 08:00 to 21:30 hours.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and safety. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing perioperative nursing care in accordance with relevant legislations
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Ensuring patient and staff safety through proactive assessment and implementation of strategies
- Supervising, directing, and guiding enrolled nurses (ENs) and assistant in nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
- Proactively assessing the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient
- Completing all required documentation in accordance with local and national policies
Essential Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification
- A postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing or working towards one
- Minimum two years' experience as a scrub/scout in a perioperative setting
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Clinical expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivation and proven ability to work effectively within a high-functioning team
- Previous experience in a private hospital setting is highly regarded
- Passion for delivering quality patient-centered care

Our salary is based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope enterprise agreement, with a salary range between $35.46-$49.79 per hour.
