Senior Steel Scheduler Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Steel Scheduler to join our team in Western Sydney. This is a senior role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret complex structural plans.

You will be responsible for coordinating directly with production to ensure steel is cut, bent, and delivered to spec and on time for a range of multi-residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

This is a detail-driven role that requires strong team support and the opportunity to take full ownership of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret construction drawings to create accurate bar lists and schedules.
  • Liaise with builders, engineers, and site contacts to confirm requirements and changes.
  • Manage updates, RFIs, and variations.
  • Communicate directly with internal teams: production, logistics, sales, dispatch.
  • Maintain clear records of drawings, forecasts, and revisions.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on progress, delivery, and lead times.
  • Use scheduling software (aSa EX currently, moving to aSa Studio).
  • Ensure steel is scheduled and produced to spec, on time and to plan.

Requirements:

  • 5 years+ experience in a similar role (scheduling/detailing).
  • Solid understanding of post-tension slabs and structural steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and construction drawings.
  • Strong communication skills - you'll speak to customers daily.
  • Experience with scheduling tools (aSa preferred) and tools like AutoCAD or Bluebeam.
  • High attention to detail - errors here can cost days on site.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities.
