Site Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to fill a key role on our Inland Rail project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, relevant legislation, approvals, and standards through rigorous risk management processes.
  • Develop and administer overall job planning and programming, including short-term and intermediate activities for construction projects, for approval by the Project Manager.
  • Input information and undertake minor design on site, monitor, and recommend changes to design details to enhance construction efficiency.
  • Exercise professional judgment in resolving complex engineering issues, including construction methods, design, and engineering procedures.
  • Effectively manage financial resources, reducing costs while meeting budget requirements.
  • Verify subcontractors' claims and variations, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
  • Perform cost control and estimation as required by the Site Manager.
  • Maintain accurate drawing register controls for the project.
  • Implement and communicate effective risk management strategies and actions involved in delivering and implementing projects.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on project performance, compliance, and defects or non-conformities.
  • Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative safety, environmental, and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills by managing teams and subcontractors to achieve project goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional engineer registration
  • Extensive experience in construction projects
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, legislation, and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
