At Landcare NSW, we're proud to be the representative body of the Landcare movement in New South Wales. Our mission is to empower community Landcarers to protect and restore the environment. We believe in the power of collective action and work collaboratively with our members, regional coordinators, and stakeholders to achieve our goals.
We have a strong commitment to indigenous reconciliation and acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, seas, and water. Our organisation is overseen by an executive committee and a small team of part-time staff who work tirelessly to build skills, capacity, strength, and connections at every level – from individual groups to district networks, to regional associations, and beyond.
Our HistoryIn 2007, a group of volunteers recognised the need for a unified voice to represent the State's dedicated community Landcarers. They established Landcare NSW, which has since grown into a robust organisation with a proven track record of delivering results. Every two years, we bring together Landcarers from across the state for musters, where we harness ideas and discuss pressing issues.
What We DoOur Landcare Community Development Officers play a vital role in enhancing and building the capacity of Landcare member organisations. They work closely with regional coordinators to design and deliver programs that meet the strategic targets of our member groups. By doing so, they help lift the overall performance and value provided by Landcare in NSW.
