Job Description

This is a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and delivery success across squads.

You will be responsible for delivering on the product roadmap by enhancing technical solutions, ensuring engineering quality, and leading a team of individual contributors to achieve organisational goals.

The successful candidate will oversee and execute the technical strategy of the team, lead the technical design of solutions within their team, maintain systems health and engineering compliance, ensure their team contributes to the group's support roster, and supports resolution of related incidents.

They will also contribute to product discovery through tech direction and feasibility assessments, lead engineering excellence through best practices, including design patterns, clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and unit testing.

Additionally, they will lead adoption of REA standards and platforms, align with tech strategy in their team, support other teams that use or contribute to their systems and service, review mission-critical PRs, and ensure incident management practices are in place.

Responsibilities include guiding and managing individual contributors to foster career development and team cohesion, conducting mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews, partnering with HR in managing performance and providing coaching and development feedback, leading recruitment efforts to build a high-performing team, promoting team engagement, and overseeing the well-being and health of the team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and inspiring engineering teams to achieve excellence, technical expertise and leadership capabilities at the forefront of success, adeptness at empowering teams, guiding them towards achieving outstanding results while fostering growth and development, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
