Registered Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking experienced nurses to work night shifts at our facilities located in Brisbane. As a nurse with Wesley Mission Queensland, you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for providing exceptional care.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments, care planning, direct nursing care, and reviewing care plans using the biopsychosocial model to promote residents' independence.
  • Providing workplace coaching, guidance, and supervision to carers, assistants in nursing, and enrolled nurses, serving as a role model for practice and professional conduct.
  • Ensuring all workplace health and safety, infection control, and safe work practices are consistently followed.
  • Providing written and verbal reports on residents' social, physical, and emotional well-being to the clinical nurses/assistant manager and collaborating to achieve quality outcomes.

About You

We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing practice, with an understanding of contemporary nursing theory and care documentation models.
  • Generalist registered nursing experience, with knowledge of aged care—highly desirable.
  • The ability to quickly understand and incorporate appropriate aged care legislated standards into daily practice.
  • Relevant probity checks as required by legislation and WMQ policy.
  • Proof of vaccination status as required by legislation, health directives, or WMQ policy, throughout employment and prior to commencement.
