Job Title: Clinical Development Strategy Manager

We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Director to oversee strategic growth initiatives, secure new clinical research opportunities, and cultivate robust client relationships.


This leadership role requires a seasoned expert with in-depth knowledge of clinical trial operations and experience navigating complex client organisations. Success will depend on your ability to develop and maintain outstanding relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.


You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing a pipeline of leads from initial contact through to contract execution. Regular domestic and international travel is required; remote work flexibility may be available dependent on base location.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads from initial contact to contract execution.
  • Expand business within existing accounts by identifying unmet client needs and proposing tailored solutions.
  • Nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives and clinical operations leaders.
  • Maintain high visibility and regular contact with clients to monitor satisfaction and anticipate future needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales within a CRO.
  • Demonstrated success in securing small to mid-scale clinical trial contracts and achieving sales targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the drug development lifecycle, regulatory frameworks, and clinical trial operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and negotiate complex contracts and budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and manage complex, matrixed relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills.
