Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Operations Specialist to join our team based in Adelaide Airport.

  • Manage processes, handle and distribute all required documentation in the shipping area.
  • Coordinate pickup arrangements to ensure timely and efficient completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and confirms transport orders to ensure pickup of shipments at origin.
  • Perform booking and booking optimization tasks.
  • Prepare, control, and distribute all required Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.).
  • Check responses from counterparts and finalize validation of required documents.
  • Follow up shipment status in the Export area, identify incidents, and ensure resolution of incidents.
  • Support Customer Service in incident and exception management resolution.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
  • Identify performance issues of suppliers and propose solutions to improve/correct performance.
  • Perform IT systems-related tasks to provide up-to-date information on shipments.

Requirements:

  • CargoWise system experience is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of AFR/OFR Export Operations is essential.
  • A minimum of one year previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics is also desirable.
  • Dangerous Goods Accreditation is highly regarded.
  • Results & outcome driven individuals are preferred.
  • Able to work independently with strong communication and administration skills.
  • Ability to follow origin & destination government requirements is essential.
  • Adaptable to changes daily due to customer & airlines requests.
  • High degree of reliability and attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude.
