We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Climate Litigation at the University of New South Wales. The successful candidate will be integral to a program of research that will have significant impact in the scholarship related to the field of climate litigation in Australia and globally.
About the Role- This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based in Kensington, NSW, Australia.
- The successful candidate will report to the Director of the Institute for Climate Risk & Response and will maintain close research ties with the School of Private and Commercial Law in UNSW's highly rated Faculty of Law and Justice.
- Conduct research in climate litigation and develop new methods to study climate litigation.
- Teach and supervise students in climate litigation and related areas.
- Contribute to the development of the Institute's research program and collaborate with other researchers in the field.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
- A PhD in Law related to the principles, processes, and practices of civil litigation and/or relevant litigation-related research experience within the discipline of Law.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- Experience in educational activities and/or outreach.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
