Sydney Horizon Educators/Teaching and Research Academic

We are looking for education-focused candidates who have a passion for teaching and learning, and who can make a significant contribution to improving the student experience at the University. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with students, facilitating and guiding their learning in research, theory, and laboratory sessions.
For education-focused roles, we are seeking candidates who have experience in assessment, feedback, and learning by design, and who can contribute to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation, and outcomes. For teaching and research roles, we are seeking candidates who have a record of attracting competitive, external funding to support their research, and who can make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation while continuing to build their research contribution, expertise, and impact.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver excellent teaching in core and elective units of study
- Implement initiatives to enable consistent high-quality teaching and support casual academics' satisfaction in teaching
- Contribute to the evaluation of student experience and development of improved education delivery
- Contribute to teaching and learning innovations, including work-integrated learning
- PhD or nearly-completed PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline
- Experience in assessment, feedback, and learning by design (for education-focused roles)
- Experience in contributing to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation, and outcomes (for education-focused roles)
- Record of attracting competitive, external funding to support research (for teaching and research roles)
- Track record of high-quality research outputs appropriate to the discipline (for teaching and research roles)
