We're seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Intensive Bail Initiative team in Mount Isa as a Senior Practitioner. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families across the region.
Job DescriptionThis is a full-time, maximum term position (through to end of March 2026, with strong potential for extension) that requires a passionate and dedicated individual who can work closely with external stakeholders to increase and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving quality program planning and implementation, coaching, training and developing colleagues to increase skill and competency to enable high quality service delivery, developing and maintaining operational stakeholder relationships that are critical to the success of the program, coordinating staff caseloads and program logistics, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and child protection, and maintaining a caseload of clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar service
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
- Strong understanding of the Youth Justice system, orders and bail obligations
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and develop a team, as well as work effectively in a team
- Ability to utilise your skills, knowledge, understanding, and experience working with families that are living with trauma to influence and guide practitioners to ensure safe and ethical practice
- Proven experience in applying a trauma informed and strength-based approach with a focus on service user advocacy and network engagement
