Location: Mount Isa. Employment term: Full-time (76 hours per fortnight), Maximum Term Contract to June 30th, 2026. Remuneration: $43.07 per hour + Super + $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging.

Your role

You will be a Child and Family Remote Support Worker in the Remote Area Families Service (RAFS) program, servicing Mt Isa and surrounding areas. You will work remotely with vulnerable clients in communities, partnering with fellow RAFS workers in Longreach, Emerald, Mareeba and Charleville. Approximately 60% of work hours involve travelling and overnighting in communities.

Responsibilities
  • Support early childhood development, parenting resilience and mobile services to communities.
  • Develop and implement programs to strengthen family relationships, and carry out early intervention and prevention activities.
  • Enhance and support increased First Nations/Multicultural community participation and family functioning.
  • Provide information, advice and referral pathways.
  • Increase awareness of children's wellbeing and support holistic early childhood education in alignment with family and child support to nurture children for learning and life.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Tertiary qualification or working towards Diploma or higher in Children's Services, Counselling, Community Services or similar, or willingness to study.
  • Be highly motivated and energetic with demonstrated experience working with young children and their development, supporting families and communities.
  • Current Queensland driver's license.
  • Blue Card.
