Workshop Supervisor Job Opportunity

Are you a proactive leader with a passion for workshop management and safety? We are seeking a Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring efficiency, quality standards, and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Job Description: Oversee workshop staff, provide guidance and mentorship, ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Lead by example with a strong focus on people management and leadership.
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Directly supervise workshop staff, providing technical support and direction.
  2. Work closely with the Leading Hand to coordinate workflow and ensure seamless operations.
  3. Offer technical assistance on company products to employees and customers.
  4. Ensure all staff adhere to safety procedures and regulations while performing tasks.
  5. Manage staff time sheets and leave requests, plan and quote for workshop jobs, sign off on completed work, and assist with budgeting inventory.
  6. Act as a liaison between sales staff, customers, and the workshop, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction.
  7. Monitor dispatch and receiving processes to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
  8. Liaise with external suppliers and other branches, assisting with queries and stock transfers.
  9. Conduct toolbox talks and train apprentices and staff to develop their skills.
  10. Source new tooling and develop improved processes to enhance factory productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of workshop operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Trade qualification is advantageous but not essential if you meet all other requirements.
