About The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a development assessment professional with expertise in forming relationships, investing in and developing people, clarity of direction and strong communication skills. We are seeking someone who can lead a high-performing team delivering planning, building and development compliance to our diverse community.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading a team that prioritises customer satisfaction by placing them at the heart of everything we do. You will create opportunities to shape the future of our City, combining this with a focus on maintaining a strong team culture.

About You:
  • You bring tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) or Bachelor of Construction Management (Building Surveying) or graduate Diploma in Building Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in statutory and strategic planning and building functions.
  • Knowledge of the National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia) and its application
  • PASSION FOR LEADING, MENTORING AND INSPIRING A TEAM TO DELIVER SERVICE EXCELLENCE.
  • High-level technical skills in development assessment and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a complex environment.
