Design Consultant Opportunity

As a key contributor to our development team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of McDonald's expansion strategy in Australia. With a strong foundation in architecture, you will create draft concept drawings for new restaurants and reinvestment projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the design manager and regional teams in producing concept plans that align with platform minimums, operational standards, and design specifications. You will integrate relevant planning and construction codes, Australian Standards, and regulations into design concepts while coordinating the preparation and maintenance of national architectural and services drawings in collaboration with external lead consultants.

Additionally, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop architectural and interior design solutions for new and existing restaurants. You will attend council meetings as required to support positive planning and development outcomes, contribute to the sustainable and scalable building solutions aligned with the company's environmental and sustainability goals, and analyze market cost data to support value-driven design decisions.

Key requirements for this role include a degree in Architecture (registration with the board is preferred), minimum 3 years' experience in the design of Class 6 buildings, proficiency in National / State building codes & Australian Standards, and experience in quick service or retail design, with a focus on site planning and customer journey.

Proficiency in design-related software specifically Revit and AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs, including Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator are also essential.
