Employee Relations Specialist

This role is a 6-month contract opportunity to work as a hybrid in Brisbane. You will be advocating for and guiding our front-line leadership team on managing employment related issues, with autonomy to manage your day-to-day work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into various Employee Relations (ER) matters, including grievances, bullying, harassment, fraud, or misconduct cases.
  • Prepare documents and responses for matters before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals.
  • Represent the organisation at conciliations and dispute matters in the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals.
  • Manage complex ER matters involving ill or injured team members.
  • Provide leaders with coaching, advice, and recommendations regarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of significant relevant experience in HR or ER IR roles, including investigations, case management, and labour laws.
  • Excellent coaching, negotiation, and influencing skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ER IR legislation within different jurisdictions and its application in policy, including experience with the Fair Work Commission and other relevant bodies.
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building skills are essential, along with a commercial orientation.
  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple competing priorities and time-sensitive cases.
