Job Overview:

The Despatch Supervisor role is a pivotal position within the Logistics Department, overseeing despatch operations and leading a team of Despatch Coordinators. This key position demands strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Despatch Coordinators to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Maintaining seamless communication with various stakeholders to guarantee operational efficiency
  • Managing the despatch area to meet turnaround times for trucks
  • Utilizing SAP (Warehouse Management system) to optimize efficient dispatching
  • Identifying and driving improvements in the despatch process

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility principles
  • Proven leadership experience, particularly in transport and dispatch operations
  • Tech-savvy with expertise in TMS systems and proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP system highly advantageous
  • Analytical thinking and an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
