Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee a high-performing team that drives the government's media, communication, content, digital, design, education and engagement functions.
- Set the direction for and oversee the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of internal and external communication and education services to achieve strategic outcomes and promote and protect the government's brand, reputation, channels, services and organisational culture.
- Operate within a customer-focused, corporate environment that values your leadership skills, professional judgement and high attention to detail, you will be part of a multidisciplinary leadership team that provides timely and strategic advice to shape decision making, mitigate risks and leverage opportunities, in partnership with your team.
- Coach and guide your team to manage a diverse portfolio of work, balancing a mix of planned and reactive deliverables, that develops your people and delivers positive outcomes for the government, our customers and the Queensland rental sector.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing targeted and integrated communication, media, digital and education strategies for internal and external audiences.
- Proven media relations and issues management experience.
- Experience working directly with senior leaders and stakeholders to inform, negotiate and shape decision making.
- Exceptional judgement and written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail in every element of writing, editing and publishing.
- Proven experience in collaborating and partnering with various stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver high quality, targeted and responsive outcomes.
- The ability to work under pressure and confidently manage and adapt flexibly to shifting priorities and leading through change.
- Demonstrated experience managing team operations including budgets, procurement, workloads and resources, planning and reporting, recordkeeping and policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced corporate communication, media or public relations team is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership experience to lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team, including fostering a culture of accountability, feedback, continuous improvement and employee wellbeing.
