About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a new graduate social worker to join our team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM). To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have completed a hospital-based placement.

To excel in this position, you will:

  • Utilize your skills to conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, apply clinical reasoning, and develop effective intervention and discharge plans.
  • Liaise with patients, their families, and/or carers to coordinate, facilitate, and communicate patient treatment and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement and research activities to drive excellence in social work practice.
  • Provide supervision and participate in clinical education programs as required.
  • Promote and develop positive relationships within the department, wider organization, and with community partners.

Your Contribution:

  • Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work with graduation in the last 12 months.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Social work experience in a hospital inpatient care setting is essential.
  • Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Working with Children's Check desirable.
