Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate full-time Chef to join our talented kitchen team at Haveli Restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, with a focus on Indian cuisine, including traditional curries and specialty dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, with an emphasis on Indian cuisine, including curries and traditional dishes.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality of all dishes.
  • Manage food preparation and cooking processes efficiently to meet service timings.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering of supplies and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Contribute to the overall kitchen operation, including assisting with staff training and development.
  • Address any issues or challenges that arise in the kitchen promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure that all dishes are presented attractively and meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Requirements
  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Proven experience for at least 1-2 years as a Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Australian experience is a must.
  • Strong expertise in preparing Indian dishes and curries, with a deep understanding of traditional ingredients and cooking methods is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Competencies
  • Expertise in preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes and curries.
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
