About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Development Application Management: Prepare, coordinate, and manage Development Applications and planning advice.
  • Planning Reports and Policy Submissions: Write planning reports, policy submissions, and respond to authority information requests.
  • Community Consultation: Attend and contribute to community consultation activities.
  • Planning Recommendations: Provide recommendations on planning matters and resolve issues within a team environment.
  • Project Management: Prepare quotes and reports on assessment and regulatory matters.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain and enhance relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Site Visits and Compliance: Attend site visits, client meetings, and ensure projects comply with legislation.
  • Legislative Compliance: Monitor relevant legislation and ensure projects are compliant with all regulations.
  • Business Process Improvement: Identify and implement business systems and process improvements.
  • Project Progress Updates: Ensure timely and efficient management of development applications and keep clients updated on progress.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events and participate in industry bodies.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in town planning or a related field.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Proven experience with development assessment and environmental planning legislation.
  • Language Skills: Demonstrated English language skills to minimum standard IELTS Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of relevant Acts and statutory controls.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated experience liaising with clients and community representatives.
  • Written and Verbal Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write comprehensive planning reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace change.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Driver's Licence: Valid Class C driver's licence.
