About the Role:

Our Municipal Services Department has an exciting opportunity for a Municipal Services Engineer in Crystal Lake, Mokena, Naperville, Chicago, or Bannockburn IL office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with municipal staff to evaluate and develop engineering solutions.
  • Serve as an Engineering advisor, performing tasks as requested by municipal staff.
  • Assist local municipalities as part-time staff when needed.
  • Represent the company while performing engineering tasks at local municipalities.
  • Support administrative, management, and capital projects as a resource.
  • Manage key community projects.
  • Prepare written reports as required by local municipalities.
Requirements:
  • A 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working as an Engineer with or for local municipalities.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical municipal staff and officials.
  • Strong knowledge of basic principles and experience with Stormwater management, water distribution, wastewater collection systems, transportation facilities, including parking, roadway design, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and accessibility requirements.
