Senior Landfill Engineer

SLR Consulting is seeking a senior-level consultant to join their Landfill Engineering team in Melbourne. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced professional to work alongside industry leaders, provide technical growth support within the SLR team, and lead various types of projects related to landfill assessment, supervision, design, peer review, audit, and expert witness.
Key Responsibilities:- Design landfill cells and liners
- Develop engineering solutions to environmental issues at and near landfills
- Prepare design documentation and technical reports
- Provide leadership on landfill projects and supervise junior staff
Working on a variety of projects including landfill rehabilitation and development, environmental assessment, risk assessment, and monitoring.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in environmental science or engineering, circa 6-12+ years professional experience in consulting or similar industry role, proven capability in environmental / contamination management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high level understanding of key landfill engineering elements, expertise with Vic EPA expectations and requirements for landfill operators, and experience in leading the preparation of engineering designs and/or environmental risk assessments and monitoring programs.
