Job Overview:

Aurizon, a leading rail freight operator in Australia, is seeking an experienced Heavy Haulage Operator to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating locomotives on mainline and shunting duties, examining and certifying trains for departure, and adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate locomotives safely and efficiently
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Maintain high levels of on-time running
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
  • Provide exceptional customer service

Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
  • Availability for a 24/7 shift roster
  • Experience working in safe working systems in NSW
  • Extensive experience driving heavy haulage locomotives
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent qualification
  • Route qualifications from Newcastle, Dubbo, Gunnedah, and Gulgong
