Locomotive Operator

Role Summary:

Aurizon is seeking qualified locomotive operators to join its Bulk NSW business. The successful candidate will appreciate the importance of a safe and enjoyable work environment.

About the Role:

  • Operate locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling.
  • Examine and certify trains for departure.
  • Work with Aurizon's safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain on-time running.
  • Prepare brake testing on locomotives.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.

About You:

  • Commitment to safety and Aurizon's safety strategy.
  • Available for a 24/7 shift roster.
  • Experience in Safe Working systems in NSW.
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent.
  • Route qualifications from Newcastle, Dubbo, Gunnedah, and Gulgong (desired).
