Role Overview
Berry Street provides Kinship Care services to children and their families in the Hume region. Our experienced team works collaboratively with extended family members, kinship carers, and community partners to provide case management services that ensure the child's safety, stability, and developmental needs are addressed.
We are seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience working with children, young people, and their families in out-of-home care, as well as a strong understanding of the inter-generational factors and complex relationships between extended family members.
The Case Manager will work closely with families to build on available formal and informal supports for children living in kinship arrangements, and assist families in providing the best possible care arrangements for children unable to live with their birth parents.
About the Role
This is a full-time, ongoing position with flexibility for 0.8 or 0.9 FTE. The role involves outreach work in the community, with service delivery across multiple shires.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and build on formal and informal family and community supports for children living in kinship arrangements
- Assist families to provide the best possible care arrangements for children unable to live with their birth parents
- Provide case management services to statutory kinship care placements to ensure the child's safety, stability, and developmental needs are addressed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working with children, young people, and their families in out-of-home care
- Strong understanding of inter-generational factors and complex relationships between extended family members
- Bachelor or Diploma qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, or related discipline
