We're seeking an experienced and visionary Safety and Environmental Manager to lead our HSE efforts, driving improvement, education and promotion at our Benalla site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project scope, cost control, scheduling and quality assurance for optimal outcomes, managing Health, Safety and Environment performance and compliance
  • Lead and coach management teams to implement robust Safety and Environmental Management Systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and certifications
  • Develop and maintain effective communication plans for HSE activities, engaging with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders and the local community
  • Implement Group and Division HSE strategies, management systems and improvement plans, aligning site priorities and resources to meet organizational objectives
  • Manage, develop and support HSE advisors and personnel, ensuring compliance with HSE management systems, accreditation and legislation
  • Identify, assess and manage site-specific HSE risks, implementing appropriate controls and corrective actions
Requirements:
  • Experience in production, construction and manufacturing environments, with a deep understanding of emergency procedures and injury management
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and experience in hazardous facilities
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including MHF, OHS & Dangerous Goods, and Safety Management Systems
  • Extensive experience in managing people, achieving results and meeting contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to lead, motivate and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Valid Driver's License and eligibility for an Australian Defence clearance
  • Willingness to work on-site
