Water Policy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Water Policy Specialist to join our team in a role that requires exceptional research, communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water policy and its application in an Indigenous context.
Key Responsibilities- Lead research and analysis on First Nations water management policy issues and provide recommendations for pathways to better recognise Indigenous values and objectives in the company's Plan.
- Support the coordination of First Nations input into policy development as part of the company Plan Review, drawing upon negotiation and liaison skills with appropriate cultural competency.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners, particularly First Nations groups, to advance Indigenous water management policy goals.
- Develop policy briefings, position papers and reports on macro and micro policy issues affecting water reform implementation and local communities.
- A tertiary qualification in natural resource management, economics or social sciences relevant to water resources management.
- An ability to communicate effectively with First Nations people and build constructive relationships with them.
- High-level research, analysis and writing skills to articulate complex matters in briefings to a range of audiences.
- A competitive salary of $110,203 - $121,238 per annum, plus superannuation.
